To be able to provide the patient have quality dental care, it’s not the work we do. It’s the maintenance of the work that they have had done before even they came in. They’ve had the natural teeth their whole life.
They had a one problem on one tooth, such as let’s say a cavity on one tooth, right? We fixed the cavity today, but the work starts for them now. If they had a cavity, something went wrong. Naturally, it could be medical problems, it could be their hygiene problems, it could be too much sugar, it could be anything.
We really try to figure out what led to that issue. And once we figure that out, hopefully we can help them to address those changes that they can make those changes, whether it’s reducing the intake of sugar, sodas, candies, Mountain Dew nowadays, Red Bull, or just properly brushing if they are avoiding a certain area or they may not be brushing with a toothbrush properly. Our job is to guide them, but hygiene can solve 95% of the problem, 95% of the future problem.
Sometimes some people have genetic problems. Those are something we can’t control, neither they can control. We can, that, those problems are the ones that we have to make sure we work as a team, both ourself and the patient to make sure they have a long lasting healthy smile.
