Patients really want a white smile. We offer a lot of different services. And we definitely tell the patient what’s good for them and what’s probably not good for them.
We use Zoom whitening, which is a UV light that activates a chemical gel on your teeth. And you get very white teeth in a short amount of time. And it is probably the fastest way to get whitening done.
Some patients have pre-existing sensitivity to cold. For them, it’s better to use something more general. So we provide strips that are prescription.
It’s different than over-the-counter strips that you can get for whitening, because it’s a little bit more strong. It’s a little more strong and it adheres much better. A lot of times, the whitening has to be done by something like bonding.
A lot of people have discolored teeth or certain intrinsic stains that go very deep. A lot of patients with braces have those, and you can’t simply whiten them out. You would have to do something a little bit more where it requires removal of that stain and then bonding something that matches or whitens their teeth over it.
And that’s definitely a more permanent solution. So depending on what the patient wants, we try to tailor.
