Mini-implants, we choose this option when somebody who has had a missing tooth for many, many years and that patient is frustrated. A lot of other things led from one missing tooth to the other missing tooth to the other missing tooth, or one missing tooth to broken fillings, broken crowns. But patient then, once they’re educated properly what led to the problem, patient realized that now I really need to address a missing tooth.
But sometimes too much time has gone by. From the day the tooth is gone missing, if we don’t replace the tooth or body because there’s no function there, there’s no pressure of the actual tooth, the bone tends to recede just like anything from having lack of use. And that bone as it shrinks over the years, patients are left with little bone.
And mini-implants are a great option where patient have the confidence in knowing that they’re not out of all options out yet. They have options for mini-implants to be able to use that as a function to replace the missing tooth or help align their smile and give them the ability to chew food as well.
